Habersham EMC Selects ProField® for Electric Meter Replacement

HERNDON, Va. — September 28, 2016—Smart Grid Solutions (SGS), a global provider of smart grid technology and services, today announced that its award-winning ProField technology has been selected  to manage the replacement of over 34,000 electric meters for Habersham Electric Membership Corporation.

“Habersham EMC serves more than 25,000 members in six counties of Northeast Georgia.  We are excited to have SGS handle this digital upgrade of our meters,” said Ricky Bates, HEMC Vice President of Engineering & Operations.  “We were impressed by their ProField system. The technology allows for more efficient project management by integrating the conversion data into our systems as well as collecting GPS locations of all the meters.”

ProField is the fully-integrated enterprise resource planning platform for smart grid pre-rollout planning, meter deployments, and post-rollout operations. ProField enhances productivity and enforces workforce safety to ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget.

The project is scheduled to begin in mid-October 2016 and continue through December 2017.
